What to look for in household payroll customer service
It’s so hard to compare payroll services with so many variables for consideration. Let’s just focus on one thing – customer service. How do you know if your payroll service is set up to provide an optimal experience to you as a customer.
First, how easy is it to go from seeing an issue in the payroll software to reaching someone at the payroll company who can address it?
Savvy Nanny has an online dashboard which displays all your payroll and tax information. From there, it is easy to click the Help link where there are phone and chat options. We have a portal built in where clients can securely send us documents, for example if you should get a notice letter from the state. Our range of customer service hours is wider than almost all our competitors. We can be reached Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Central Time AND Saturday 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
Next, how comfortable are you that the person addressing your problem truly understands the problem, has the training to answer your question or route your issue to the right department, and stay with your issue until it is resolved.
The first thing you ought to know there is that every representative you speak with works directly for Savvy Nanny or our RunPayroll software. The person you speak with will be based in the United States and will have training in how to advise on the most common issues. In addition, there are teams devoted to payroll bank transactions, tax issues, all kinds of areas of expertise. Your concern will be given a case number for follow up if necessary. We try to be proactive. Knowing that the first quarter of the year is the busiest with client concerns, we put information out to clients to check your accounts before year’s end to make sure information contained is accurate.
Another consideration is if the payroll service you are using is geared specifically for household payroll users or if household is just an afterthought on a business payroll service. I’ve seen some big services out there that just tack on “household” to language they use for business, and it did not inspire my confidence that the business clearly understood the different needs of a household client. Savvy Nanny Payroll Services ONLY services household clients. Of course you might have questions on how we can meet your personal needs. You are always welcome to start with an email to support@savvynannypayrollservices.com.
